l have a 125cc, 4 stroke engine, clutch, kick start dirt bike. l am heav trouble starting it up, what do l do?
l have a 125cc, kick start, clutch dirt bike that l got for christmas. l have not ridden yet hence the problem(its brand new not used). l think that gas is not getting to the coraberatorl have tryed taking a syringe and putting gas in the coraborater, and that is gotten it going for like 5 second's. When it goes l try and gas it but after l release all it does is go off. Ive contacted the company about how to start it and they said since it is a new bike it might take a while for too get it started but its been almost 2 days

pull out the clutch

l have a four stroke 150cc and l turn the gas on give the throttle a few twists, turn the choke up all the way and give it one or two kicks. starts right up but takes a lil to warm up.. hope this helps

replace it with a Honda.... when was the last time it was serviced???? a new plug may be in order..how old is the fuel. have you drained the float bowl . it may have water in it

Gas is on? Choke is on?

take it to a shop and they can fix it for you and not that much.

thats odd.. a new bike should start rite up.. take it back and buy a yamaha or honda not a bike from kragen.autoparts

Im sure you would.

It may be that u have flooded the spark plug. l know that they say this does not happen with 4 strokes but it can. You may have gotten too much fuel inside the spark plug & it will hinder the process of making a spark needed for combustion. Try taking the spark plug out & drying it with a lighter & air. Better yet l reccommend u have a new spark plug. Also drain ur gas tank & put new fuel in it. Once u have new fuel & a good spark plug here is how u crank ur motorcycle.

1--Open the choke to ''full Choke'' This will allow the carbuerator to inject just the right amount of fuel needed with the correct air mixture to crank a ''cold'' engine.

2--DO NOT TWIST THE TROTTLE WITH THE CHOKE OPEN--- l assume u have been doing this & flooding ur motor. Hands off the throttle when engine is cold.

3--Smooth, solid kicks on the kick starter---Short choppy strokes will not create enough compression to start the motor.

4--Find Top Dead Center--This is the point of ur kick start stroke that will allow u to have the longest stroke when u kick.

5--Kick the kick starter until the motor starts & leave the choke on for 1-3 minutes until the motor begins to run smoothy.

6--Do not operate the Throttle until the motor runs smoothy--you could flood ur motor after u start it if u push the choke in too soon.

A 125cc 4-stroke does not have a lot of compression so u should not have much trouble kicking this. l suspect u r attempting to crank ur motor without the choke & u r using the throttle & not letting the choke push the fuel to ur motor.

OH YEAH!!! l almost forgot to add. After u have rode the motorcycle u can most likely crank it with 1-2 good swift kicks with the choke off. The first start of the day (cold motor) will have to be with the ''Choke on'' & HANDS OF THE THROTTLE.
