I.e. planning permission land size . l really have no idea.

My advice would be to call them and find out, It is better to ask them then us. Because their the ones that can give ya the fine and possible jail time(not likely on the jail time but it is a possibility).

l would be very careful approaching the council as once you have put the idea in their heads that you will be riding on your property, more often than not you are just putting a target on your backs for them and if they can think of a reason to stop you then they will. If you get caught doing so you can usually feign ignorance of the rules and will most likely get a warning first time.
By all means see if you can find out your own local rules but be discrete about it.

If it your own land, then you can do what you like.

Btw, they are called 'Quad Cycles' or 'Quads'. A bike only has two wheels, a trike has three. A Quad has four.

You do not say 'trike bike' do you?

As a person that has ridden on friend is properties as well as mine. My experiences depend on ur neighbors & how big the land is.

One friend has tons of land out there in PA, & has his personal private track on it, which a piece of can be seen from the country road. Never issues, ever.. (no county permits)
Another has 5 acres at his home in N. NJ (with a mini track) & a neighbor that occasionally complains & send the cops over. Which check out his quads & bikes, & tell him to cool it for the day or two. They know it is his land & the old lady calls them way too much for other reasons. (no county permits)
l rode on my land once (1.5acre, cr250r) & had to police come & stress that l was just plainly being too loud..

l would not go to the council if l were u -

If it is just u riding around for the occassional bit of fun - l do not see why you'd need to contact the council unless of course ur land is green belt -

Even if it is - I'd still say nothing - If later u r approached by the council (maybe a pizzed off neighbour has 'grassed' u up) - just play ignorant - you'd get away with it maybe once !!!!!!!!!!
