Ok, so l just got this dirt bike right!? l can ride it and go fairly fast but l need some tips on riding because eventually im gunna go and do motor cross so l need some things l can do just to help me get a little better. THANKS! : P

Practice your holeshots, this is probably the most important part if you start in front it will make your life easier. Also corners, you will cut your lap times down a lot if you can corner well. Work on your turning, acceleration, and landing. Oh, and also, Kawasaki is the best there is! You should get a Shoei helmet, Fox jersey and pants, and if you can afford it, Alpine Star boots.

l would suggest u save up & get a few lessons as basic bike skills r necessary for racing & that is the best way to learn the right way from the start. l know u said u can ride the bike but being able to ride & being able to race r very different.
Most local clubs run basic training days where u learn to corner correctly & learn where is best for ur weight to be for every situation. They will pick up all the little things like having ur elbows up when u ride & being with other kids training u get to see how they do it & u can gauge ur speed better. Having others with u on the track also gives u a guide as to what speed u should hit a jump for safety.
Learning to holeshot is important but it is not the first skill u need as being out in front is no good if u do not know what to do once u r out there & things feel a lot different when u have other riders breathing down ur neck & on ur back wheel.
So go visit ur local club & see about joining & then u can turn up to practise days & find out about basic training. By joining the local club u will also get to meet heaps of others who love bikes & motocross as well.

Hey. l am a girl and l race too. Holeshots are a must! Also get a lot of practice on the whoops and on burms. oh and if you get sand or fine dirt in your throttle clean it out before you ride again because it causes the throttle to stick and that could be real real bad. Good luck!

and you dont need a fox jersey and a shoei helmet, just a helmet that is dot and snell approved, and a jersey pants and gloves, you need motocross boots and a chest protector too.
