Is a 1984 Honda CR500 stable enough on landings and though it is old reliable enough not to cause major headaches?? l know it is got plenty of power, but I am worried about it on landings. It the suspension good enough for a 200 pound guy taking a big jump?? It is very well taken care of and the motor was just rebuilt. I've heard dirt bikes will go forever if you take care of them and with the motor being new being an 84 does not concert me.

Will you be racing vintage?? The bike is pretty old for any thing else..re-built or not..

l know it would pack your weight and you could do some small jumps.but the suspension is old and not as good as the new stuff..

Stick with vintage type racing. You will need a newer bike to race competitive, at least a 03 l would say.

Not old enough for vintage racing, too old for modern racing. For just ridding on the track it will be fine but obviously not up to par with modern bikes. The jumps at most tracks r far bigger than they were 20 years ago so u might take a beating for sure. If u r not an experienced rider that bike is a very bad choice. l know a low priced bike is hard to turn down, but they quit making those things for a reason. And no, the Service Honda 500 is not the same bike by a long shot.
