l recently purchased a 2001 KX 125. It is my first bike and was very inexpensive because it came from a good friend. l have begun riding at a MX track and the other guys tell me that l need to stand more and keep my elbows up. When l try this l feel like l am out of balance forward of the handle bars and the only way to keep from going over the front is to suck my elbows in.

l rode a coworkers CRF 450 and it felt so much better. l felt comfortable standing and l could get my elbows up...

l have adjusted the handle bars forward as much as l thought was reasonable, which helped a little.

l am 6 foot 180 pounds. Is there anything else l can do?
Thanks Auburn, l did get the bike for a great price, but then the main bearing failed and l had to rebuild the top and bottom end, so now l have invested just about market value

Put higher bars and clamps and a higher seat and in the mean time use the 125cc for practice till you are a bit better on the bike and then sell it. As you have stated you bought it well, so should be able to sell it at a good price.

It sounds like your not holding the tank with your knees..If your legs are spread then you will feel out of control..Grip the tank a little.When going into a corner..weight the out side peg..depending on the corner you might have to shift your butt to the high side a little and weight the outside peg.This will let you be able to keep the throttle on more around the corner.

Just a few little tips..

go with a crf 450 cuz honda all the way

stick with tha 125 for awhile thers no different in hight.once u get tha hang of it l recomend a 250f stick with a kwaka go tha green machines
